Silverwells House -The Gordon Room ![]() |
The Gordon Room is situated on the ground floor, and is themed on
the Gordon tartan. The room has a king size four-poster bed, together with the usual colour TV, minibar, telephone, tea/coffee making facilities and heating. It has two windows in the room, although there is no view as such, there is adequate light and ventilation. The en-suite bathroom is one of the biggest in the building and it has an original 1860 leaded glass window. The bathroom has a large corner bath together with a shower hose fitting on the bath set. There are large mirrors on two walls. The room is likely to have been a bedroom originally, or perhaps a rear sitting room or library. We have installed a period fireplace which adds a focal point to the bedroom. The ceiling still has the original cornicework. Both windows still have the original teak window shutters which shut out the daylight and ensure privacy.
